An Emotional Janet Jackson Breaks Down While Singing About Domestic Violence

Two shows into Janet Jackson's State of the World tour and the singer has already proven she remains completely emotionally connected to her music.

Jackson - who is 51-years-old - gave birth to her first baby, Eissa, just nine months ago.

The singer paused after singing the song, covering her face and sobbing for a few seconds, telling the audience, "This is me". She even surprised all when she fused Cardi B's "Bodak Yellow" instrumental into a remix of "What Have You Done for Me Lately". Janet sang her hits like "Nasty", "Miss You Much" and "All For You" while interacting with fans in the crowd. She then stands up and says, "This is me". The Grammy-winning singer also traded her all-black ensembles for a more casual one, wearing a fitted white sweater, a pair of tight jeans and knee-high boots.

News of her divorce from Wissam Al Mana, her husband of five years, soon followed. She performed some of her classic hits with a slight twist. And on Friday, before her Houston concert at the Toyota Center, Jackson visited the evacuees at their shelter with her brother Randy Jackson and the Mayor of Houston, Sylvester Turner.

Janet Jackson is getting political on her new world tour by highlighting the need to crack down on domestic terrorism across the U.S.

She previously announced plans to arrive in the city early so she can meet victims of the natural disaster and help with relief efforts.

According to PEOPLE, Janet hasn't cancelled a planned Saturday concert in Houston in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.
