She edges out Ryan Reynolds, who at $21 million ranks 15th on the list of top paid men - but the remaining 14 highest-paid male actors officially made more than the highest-paid woman.

Thanks to his parts in Transformers: The Last Knight and Daddy's Home 2, plus his annoying AT&T commercials, Marky-Mark Wahlberg is at the top of Forbes' list of World's Highest Paid Actors.

The Hollywood star beat last year's top-ranked star, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson whose earnings summed up to $65 million putting him in second place.

The Forbes' list of highest paid female actors came out last week.

However, the issue arises when his earnings are compared to those in the highest-paid actresses' list, which Emma Stone topped with a total of $26m (£20m).

Wahlberg starred in last year's 'Patriots Day, ' about the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing. Similar to Wahlberg, Johnson's "Baywatch" failed to break records at the box office. The lifeguard reboot failed to make waves at the box office, but Johnson has a lucrative role on HBO hit series Ballers that keeps his bank account replenished.

Mark Wahlberg has been named the highest paid actor in the world, having earned $68million (€57.85m) in the previous year.

Forbes notes that a quarter of the actors on this year's list were born outside the USA, including three stars from India's Bollywood.

Fellow Fast and the Furious star Vin Diesel comes in at the number three spot with $54.5 million, followed by Adam Sandler at number four with $50.5 million.
